The Dutch grading system scores on a 1-10 scale, with 6.0 being the minimum pass mark. See the following website for more information: https://www.nuffic.nl/en/education-systems/netherlands/grading-systems. At UvA, the grade 5.5 is rounded to 6.0. The University of Amsterdam has listed how the different grades in the Dutch system compare to international standards. This list can be found here: https://student.uva.nl/en/topics/the-marking-assessment-and-registration-of-your-academic-results ## Frequency distribution Grades are provided on an absolute scale. Students are not compared to others in their cohort when assessing the quality of their performance. Across programmes, the distribution of grades approximates the description in the table below. This means that grades of 9 or 10 are reserved for truly excellent work. | Grade | Frequency | | :---: | :-------: | | 10 | 0.50% | | 9 | 2.70% | | 8 | 14.00% | | 7 | 40.00% | | 6 | 35.00% | | 5 | 6.80% | | 4 | 0.08% | | 3 | 0.03% | | 2 | - | | 1 | - |
